IRA Charitable Rollover Extended

Transfer a portion of your IRA to a favorite cause tax-free.

Congress has passed the Protecting Americans From Tax Hikes Act of 2015 which has permanently extended the IRA charitable rollover or qualified charitable distribution. This legislation provides you with a unique giving opportunity to support the causes you care about without being subject to federal income taxes on the distribution from your IRA

How does the IRA Charitable Rollover work?

  • People 70 1/2 and older can transfer up to $100,000 of IRA assets to public charities without being subject to federal income taxes on the distribution. Please consult with your tax advisor regarding your state income tax implications.
  • You can establish a fund to support a charity of your choice. You can also make a gift directly to any of these already established funds.
