Project Description

Anawim Housing converted a former Days Inn hotel into 40 one-bedroom and efficiency apartments for individuals who are homeless, many with qualifying disabilities or a history of domestic violence. The project utilizes Centralized Intake to prioritize and refer the most vulnerable individuals, ensuring they meet eligibility criteria. Operating under the Housing First model, it aims to eliminate barriers to housing, a best practice for serving homeless individuals with disabilities. On-site voluntary supportive services will focus on housing stability and person-centered, stage-matched case management. Tenants will sign leases and adhere to Iowa Landlord and Tenant laws.
