Project Description
Dedicated to excellence, Heartland Youth Choir (HYC) develops musicianship and builds character of youth through the rehearsal and performance of quality choral literature for ages 4-18.
HYC’s last international tour was in 2018, and touring is a really important part of what we do because music is a part of culture. By traveling, our singers not only share their own culture to their audiences, but also get to experience firsthand the culture of other countries. This is an eye-opening and life-changing experience. This firsthand experience with other singers, as well as just staying in another country for an extended period helps our singers gain empathy, understanding, and appreciation for different cultures.
