Project Description
The Directors Council is launching a community centered Advocacy Plan to advance equitable policies in housing, medical debt relief, childcare, transportation, employment pathways, and economic stability for residents across Polk County. This plan builds on the One Economy research and community feedback that continues to show significant disparities in financial security, household stability, and access to opportunity.
The Advocacy Plan brings community voices into local, county, and state policy conversations and ensures that leaders have the data, lived experience, and strategy needed to influence real change. Funding will support community education sessions, policy briefs, legislative materials, convenings with partners, and staff capacity to engage decision makers throughout the year. It will also allow us to collect stories and insights from residents whose experiences shape the priorities of the plan.
Our goal is to create long term systems change that strengthens families, increases financial inclusion, stabilizes households, and expands pathways to economic mobility. With community support, we can amplify resident voices and make sure that the solutions identified in the One Economy report move from discussion to action.
Your investment helps The Directors Council serve as a trusted partner, a data informed advocate, and a connector that brings together residents, leaders, and institutions committed to a thriving and inclusive Polk County.
