Expanding Patient Assistance

Primary Health Care’s (PHC) mission is to provide health care and supportive services to all people, regardless of income, insurance status, or life circumstances, to improve their quality of life. PHC operates 10 clinics in Central Iowa, serving those with significant barriers to care. 

Of the 40,000+ patients PHC serves annually, 58% live at or below the federal poverty level ($32,150 for a family of four), 51% are best served in a language other than English, and 37% are uninsured, representing the largest uninsured population served by any community health center in Iowa.

Through PHC’s Patient Assistance Program, individuals and families can access critical care, including wellness visits, medications, behavioral health care, dental care, maternal care, and more.

In response to the growing needs across central Iowa, PHC is seeking to expand the Patient Assistance Program and increase access to comprehensive, compassionate care for underserved individuals across central Iowa.
