Community-Based Youth Mentoring

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa (BBBSCI) is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. BBBSCI is the premier youth mentoring organization in the Central Iowa area and has been serving youth of over 50 years. Through our mentoring programs, we Defend the Potential of youth. We have three different mentoring programs: Community-Based Program, School-Based Program, and Workplace Mentoring Program. Our programs reach underserved and disadvantaged families with 86% of youth growing up in households on income assistance, 74% of our Littles coming from communities of color and 15% of Littles living with two parents in the home. The need for role models in the lives of youth is growing, and we are working tirelessly to provide mentors to inspire children to dream BIG. Through the generous support of donors and sponsors, BBBSCI will create and support close to 600 matches this year.
