Clean Water through Innovative Organic Bio-Stimulant

Interest Areas: Health
Goal: $200,000
Funding Deadline: June 01, 2026
Giving Type: General Support

Project Description

The Iowa Foundation for Microenterprise and Community Vitality (IFMCV dba Iowa Microloan) is embarking on a dialogue project to explore technologies and practices that enhance clean water while maintaining farm profitability. A promising new innovation involves a certified organic bio-stimulant with potential to maintain and increase yields while reducing applications of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) in a managed nutrient strategy that reduces commercial N and P use to lower farm input costs while maintaining or increasing profitability. A variation of the innovative technology uses wastewater with nutrient load and other bio-based feedstocks to produce organic bio-stimulant and clean water.

IFMCV is seeking funds to conduct a dialogue project of community leaders, waste-water professionals and farm leaders for regenerative and organic agriculture to facilitate and inform the organization of a demonstration project that may result in distributed small-scale facilities and circular economy for communities and rural areas. IFMCV is a 501c3 nonprofit and the proposed project would be eligible for impact investing by donor advised funds.
