Reception: 5 p.m.

DonorConnect is a conversation series designed to bring our community together to learn about and discuss our region’s most pressing issues and promising opportunities.

Safe and thriving youth are the building blocks of a strong community, both today and tomorrow. Across Central Iowa, partners are coming together around a shared vision to better understand challenges facing youth today and identify where our region can focus to protect their potential.

We’ll explore the Safe & Thriving Youth Plan, a collaborative, community-informed effort to reduce youth violence in Greater Des Moines. Together, we’ll look at emerging priorities, hear insights from individuals instrumental in informing the plan and build a clearer understanding of what it will take to create long-term, sustainable change that will impact generations to come.

Hear from:

  • Bridget Cravens-Neely, CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Tone Roddy, Project Manager, Safe and Thriving Youth, United Way of Central Iowa
  • Luke Lynch, Senior Community Engagement Officer, United Way of Central Iowa
  • Kimberly Graham, Attorney, Polk County

You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how this work is taking shape, and how it’s helping ensure that young people have the support, stability and opportunities they need to succeed.
