Opportunity to Raise Funds for Nonprofit Organizations

Mar. 26, 2012

The Principal Charity Classic's Birdies for Charity program provides a unique fundraising tool for nonprofit organizations.

Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed to give your organization an opportunity to generate contributions based on the number of "birdies" made by Champions Tour players during The Principal Charity Classic||special174|| May 28-June 3 at Glen Oaks. With 879 birdies made in last year's tournament, Birdies for Charity raised nearly $173,000 for local organizations serving youth.

Participating organizations receive 100% of every donation collected on their behalf and have the potential to earn extra money through the "Bonus Bucks" program, which is sponsored by Sammons Financial Group.   For additional information contact Scott Levy.

Applications for participation will be reviewed based on the following criteria: 501(c)(3) status recognized by the IRS and a significant portion of the organization's programming must target youth in Central Iowa or the organization must be a high school in Polk, Dallas, Warren or Story county.

The Community Foundation is the host charity for The Principal Charity Classic||special174||, and funding from the tournament supports the Connecting Kids and Culture program which provides funding for kindergarten through fifth grade students to attend local, cultural field experiences.
