Earlier this year, Hoyt Sherman Place Foundation was gifted a fully restored 1922 Wurlitzer Theater Organ from the Maloof Foundation in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hoyt Sherman Place has been searching for an historic organ and pipes that would fit in the existing organ chambers that were designed in 1915 and ultimately completed in 1923, sans an organ. The excitement in the community and especially among the Des Moines Women’s Club members who always dreamed of hearing the theater come alive with a pipe organ may see that come to fruition.
With a fundraising goal of $250,000 for the installation and long-term maintenance of the organ, Hoyt Sherman Place Foundation has raised 40% of the funds. Would you like to make a gift today in support of this project?
