Project Description
EveryStep’s Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program provides intensive, evidence-based home visiting for first-time mothers in Polk, Dallas, Warren, and Madison counties, lasting from pregnancy through the child’s second birthday. By bringing a highly trained nurse directly to the mother’s home, the program removes barriers to accessing perinatal care and meets families where they are. Nurses deliver personalized guidance on prenatal care, infant health, nutrition, and child development while helping mothers set personal goals, pursue education, and achieve job stability to better support their families. The program connects families to essential community resources, reduces preventable health risks, and promotes long-term social, economic, and health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable and underserved families. Nurse Family Partnership provides critical Maternal and Child Health services to vulnerable mothers and children in central Iowa. Charitable contributions fill funding gaps to sustain and expand the program, ensuring new families receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
