Project Description
This project aims to implement the new Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) guidelines on fetal movement in central Iowa health systems and through community doulas, focusing on high-need zip codes. By combining clinical education, community engagement, and a maternal health-focused baby shower, the program aims to:
- Equip expectant parents with evidence-based strategies for monitoring fetal health.
- Strengthen the capacity of local health systems to respond to fetal movement concerns.
- Address maternal health disparities through culturally appropriate outreach and education.
- Foster sustainable improvements in care delivery through provider and doula training.
