Dedicated to excellence, Heartland Youth Choir develops musicianship and builds character of youth through the rehearsal and performance of quality choral literature. Heartland Youth Choir (HYC) is celebrating its 21st year of providing performance-based youth programming, emphasizing musical literacy and character development. Since 2003, Heartland Youth Choir has been providing outstanding music education and unique performance opportunities to students throughout the Greater Des Moines area. Today, the organization serves over 150 youth choir members and offers multiple programs set up to provide music education opportunities to hundreds of Iowa youth throughout the year. As no family is turned away due to financial constraints, ensuring all youth can experience high-quality, hands-on music education opportunities is of vital importance to HYC. To continue this great tradition of providing scholarship funding to families in need, while also growing, serving, and prospering, HYC will need support from people like you! Our primary funding is derived from tuition, grants, and fundraising. This support can only be provided when donors like you give of your treasure to make it possible for students, who do not simply want our program, but need our program, to participate while fostering creativity, personal expression, and social growth.
