Project Description

Double Up Food Bucks is a fruit and vegetable incentive program designed to help SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) users access healthy food while supporting local farmers and the Iowa economy. The program provides a dollar-for-dollar match for SNAP benefits spent on fruits and vegetables, up to $10 per day.

How It Works:
When a customer spends $10 in SNAP benefits at a participating site, they receive an additional $10 in free Double Up Food Bucks to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables. This 1:1 match, available daily, increases access to nutritious food while boosting sales for Iowa farmers.

The Impact:
Double Up Food Bucks delivers a triple win for Iowa:

  • Healthier Iowans: Families enjoy more fresh produce on their plates.
  • Stronger Economy: Dollars stay within local communities.
  • Thriving Farms: Iowa farmers see increased sales of their produce
Support the Program:
Your donation to Double Up Food Bucks will directly fund program incentives, marketing and outreach, materials, administration, and evaluation, ensuring the program's continued success.
