The Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Gordon Fischer will serve as Vice President of Gift Planning Strategies. In this new role, Fischer, who is a well-known Des Moines attorney, will work as an integral member of the Community Foundation's leadership and advancement teams providing information about strategic gift planning tools and techniques to donors and their professional advisors. Fischer will specialize in facilitating complex charitable gifts. Fischer will begin his new role July 1.

Fischer has practiced law at Bradshaw, Fowler, Proctor & Fairgrave, P.C. for the past seventeen years, the last eleven as a partner. He is excited about this opportunity to focus his legal and professional skills on community betterment.

"I've been a long-time Community Foundation donor myself because of my tremendous respect for its impact, making a positive difference in lives of Iowans and building for our community's bright future," Fischer said. "I'm thrilled to be part of that work."

Community Foundation Board Chair Cara Heiden added, "Gordon will be instrumental in working with our fund holders and financial advisors to accomplish strategies for major gifts to the Community Foundation that will translate into significant community investment and impact through increased grants."
