Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines Ranked in the Top 55 of Community Foundations Nationwide.

The Foundation Center recently ranked the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines in the top 55 of more than 750 community foundations across the nation in all four categories of its CF Insights: Benchmarking Beyond Asset Size report:
- Top Community Foundations by Asset Size (#52)
- Most Gifts Per Capita (#25)
- Most Active Grantmakers (#50)
- Most Activity (#22)
“The growth of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines as a leader in the field is a testament to the generosity of Iowans,” says Kristi Knous, Community Foundation president. “We are fortunate to live and work in a region that recognizes the critical role charitable giving plays in creating strong and vibrant communities for all our neighbors to call home.”
“What is meaningful about these rankings is that each charitable dollar invested, each gift given and each grant made represents an investment a member of our community has made in the causes they care about for generations to come,” says Cara Heiden, Community Foundation board president. “The high rank of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines reflects not only the tremendous charitable passion in our community, but the accessibility of the Community Foundation to all who are interested in supporting causes they care about in personal ways.”
