How can your organization dramatically improve the process of collaboration – and get more voices heard? Nonprofits looking for new approaches to solving problems and engaging stakeholders can explore the emerging field of design thinking. This action-oriented method for generating creative solutions begins by helping organizations better understand the people they serve. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn new tools for reframing problems and generating solutions that will more effectively drive strategy and carry out their mission. Walk away with a basic introduction to design thinking methods, inspiration for how to utilize them in your organization, and exercises you can bring back to spark innovative thinking with your board or staff. This session is helpful for board members and lead nonprofit staff who have an interest in encouraging innovation to better meet their missions.
Note that the design thinking framework is the basis for this year’s nonprofit project partnerships with the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute’s Community Leadership Program. We are offering this session in partnership with the Leadership Institute in hopes to build understanding and excitement around these concepts within the Greater Des Moines nonprofit community.
