Community Circles & Conversations Series: First & Third Wednesdays

Community Circles & Conversations are twice monthly convenings that seek to build trusting relationships and share knowledge and resources with the Central Iowa nonprofit sector. Featuring a mix of timely local topics and issues relevant to nonprofit professionals, participants will hear from leaders in the field and engage in breakout discussions with peers.

Frequency: Twice a month, on the first and third Wednesday. Please note: First and third Wednesday series have separate, unique registration links.

Audience: Central Iowa nonprofit leaders (executives, leadership staff, board members, sector support professionals)

Location: These sessions will be held on the Zoom platform. Participants are asked to register individually and will receive a unique URL that will run through 2020.

First Wednesday Series, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Sessions will center on local topics and issues of interest and highlight collaborations with breakouts by nonprofit field of interest. The sessions taking place the first Wednesday of every month occur Aug. 5, Sept. 2, Oct. 7, Nov. 4,  and Dec. 2, 2020. Register:

Third Wednesday Series, 8:30-9:30 a.m

Sessions will focus on topics and practices to build the capacity and professionalism of the nonprofit sector with breakouts by organizational role. The sessions taking place the third Wednesday of every month occur Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16, 2020. Register:

These sessions will be hosted through the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines in partnership with United Way of Central Iowa, Mid-Iowa Health Foundation, Polk County Housing Trust Fund and Bravo Greater Des Moines along with additional members of the Central Iowa Funders Forum, a group of local grantmakers.
