Grantmaking from the Watson Powell, Jr. Fund has been temporarily suspended until the corpus of the Watson Powell, Jr. Fund reaches $500,000 in assets.  The Watson Powell, Jr. Fund Advisory Committee is committed to the mission of the Fund and will look at a variety of ways to grow the Fund’s assets.  This will provide a more significant funding base that would allow for larger grants to select organizations providing leadership in impacting the Des Moines’ African-American community.
