The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors adopted a new strategic plan to lead its work through 2011. The Board’s vision includes reaching these key goals:
· Be well known and respected throughout the community as:
- a primary player and principal convener for community visioning and planning
- a catalyst for community betterment
- a promoter of philanthropy and an expert resource for individuals, families, corporate donors and organizations seeking guidance to achieve their charitable giving goals
- a definitive leader in community philanthropic giving and planning
- a leader in grantmaking for community impact
- a resource to elevate the understanding of community needs
· Reach assets of $400 million, including unrestricted endowments totaling $50 million. In addition the Community Foundation plans to have deferred gifts of unrestricted endowments totaling $100 million.
· Have a Board comprised of community philanthropic leaders who are dedicated to and actively involved in achieving the Community Foundation’s mission.
· Operate with the infrastructure needed to support and enhance the Board’s activities.
· Use successful fund development efforts including multiple strategies for fundraising and planned giving with an emphasis on growth of unrestricted endowments.
· Utilize grantmaking as a catalyst for achieving significant, measurable community impact. Lead efforts to leverage funds and relationships to advance community priorities. |
