Iowa C.A.N. Affiliates Grow their Endowments with Help from the Iowa Values Fund
Thirty of the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation’s affiliates in the Iowa Community Affiliate Network received a combined total of $2,310,000 as part of the Iowa Department of Economic Development’s 2007 County Endowment Fund Program.
Each fund received approximately $77,000 in the third year of this program and will grant 75% of the County Endowment Program dollars to charitable projects within their counties and place the remaining 25% in a permanent endowment intended to attract other donations and provide a source of permanent funding for charitable projects within their county.
Iowa C.A.N. affiliates that received County Endowment Funds* include:
* The source of funding for the 2007 County Endowment Fund Program is state gambling revenues, of which one half of one percent was designated for distribution to counties without a state gambling license. Fourteen counties were not eligible for the funding because state-licensed gaming facilities are located in or planned within those counties. |
