Investment Policy |
Financial gifts to the Community Foundation's Pooled Investment Portfolio are managed by professional investment firms. Assets are spread among asset classes, risk factors, investment-management organizations, economic sectors and industries. The Community Foundation's Pooled Investment Portfolio may use mutual funds or separate-account management to implement the investment strategies. To achieve the necessary investment returns, the Community Foundation's Pooled Investment Portfolio assumes appropriate levels of risk associated with capital markets. Total fund risk is measured and evaluated using sophisticated techniques and measurement systems to avoid unnecessary risks.

Investment Committee
Oversight of the Community Foundation's investments is the responsibility of the Foundation's Investment Committee. Some of the Committee's specific accountabilities include setting and monitoring investment performance goals; developing and assessing the asset allocation strategy; evaluating, selecting and monitoring individual investment managers; and, recommending the Community Foundation's spending policy to the Board.
