Barry provides the Community Foundation with strategic direction and leadership. He joined the Community Foundation in 2008 after a distinguished career with The Principal Financial Group® where he served as chairman, president and chief executive officer. Active in various industry and community organizations, Barry serves as a board member for The Principal Financial Group® and as a board member for Herman Miller, Inc. Barry is also a member of the board of trustees of United Way of America and Americans for the Arts. He serves as chair of the Business Committee for the Arts and is a trustee of Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

Kristi Knous, Vice President, Donor Relations & Community Investment  |   Email
Kristi’s role includes oversight of planning and implementation of a comprehensive donor relations initiative. She also leads the Community Foundation’s grantmaking and community investment programs and provides leadership by identifying and addressing issues key to the quality of life in the community.  

Sally Boeckholt, Bookkeeper   |   Email
Sally supports the daily activities of the finance department by processing all gifts and distributions for funds at the Community Foundation. She also works hand in hand with Nonprofit Accounting Services clients to address their daily needs.


Jessica Brown, Marketing Associate   |   Email
Jessica drives the Community Foundation’s comprehensive strategic marketing plan through all forms of marketing, advertising and public relations initiatives. She communicates the Community Foundation’s message and mission to further establish the Community Foundation as a leader in philanthropy.

Ashley Canney, Director of Affiliates & Philanthropic Partners  |   Email 
Ashley works primarily with members of the Iowa Community Affiliate Network (Iowa C.A.N.) promoting philanthropy in counties and communities throughout the state. Ashley serves as a resource to affiliates, builds new relationships with communities and counties and implements the Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program.

Carol manages the front desk operations of the Finkbine Mansion and provides administrative support for the Community Foundation staff and board committees.



Shonna Floyd, Executive Assistant   |   Email
Shonna provides administrative support to the president, other designated Community Foundation staff, board, committees and Community Foundation partners. She assists in implementing the programs and administrative activities that assist the Community Foundation in carrying out its mission and goals.
Karla Jones-Weber,  CPA, CFO and Director of Administration  |   Email
Karla plans and directs the activities and operations of the finance department including accounting, data processing, fund administration, financial reporting and investment oversight. Karla provides ongoing donor relations to existing fund representatives and is instrumental in fostering relationships with Nonprofit Accounting Services clients.

Sheila Kinman, Director of Advancement   |   Email
Sheila leads the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development plan to accomplish the strategic goals of the Community Foundation.  She helps donors, nonprofits and corporations establish charitable funds and access Endow Iowa Tax Credits while providing a high level of development leadership to the Community Foundation. 

Kaye Lozier, Director of Donor Relations  |   Email
Kaye manages the Community Foundation's comprehensive donor relations program, working to meet long- and short-term needs of Community Foundation donors.  She increases donor awareness of important and emerging community needs, identifies donor's philanthropic goals and develops services for donors.

Kris Pete-Swanson, Senior Accountant  |   Email
Kris organizes and coordinates day-to-day operations related to accounting functions. She is responsible for performing complex accounting tasks, reconciling investment activity and producing financials and fund reports. Kris also works very closely with Nonprofit Accounting Services clients.

Dan Raedeker, Community Investment Associate   |   Email
Dan administers the Community Foundation’s grantmaking activities. He also assists with planning, marketing and implementing the Nonprofit Technical Assistance Program which provides training for nonprofit organizations and board members.
