Long-time supporters of Orchard Place, Barbara and Michael Gartner’s memorial fund provides regular funding to maintain a specific aspect of the organization’s facility.

“Club Chris is a memorial to our son Chris at Orchard Place in Des Moines. Our family wanted to make sure that there would be funds to maintain the beautiful building for the long-term, for we deeply believe that private and public charitable organizations need all the help they can get. We concluded that the best way to ensure long-term support would be to establish and endow the Club Chris Fund through the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation. The Foundation has done a wonderful job, providing funds for Club Chris and comfort for his family.”
